Wes Carr’s accomplishments in the music industry span more than a decade. In 2005 Wes travelled to LA to work with Joe Cockers’ musical director CJ Vanston and together they wrote a song for the film ‘For Your Consideration’ (directed by Christopher Guest) called ‘Say My Name’ which features on the film’s soundtrack
In 2006 Wes collaborated with Ben Gillies from Silverchair. They formed a band called ‘Tambalane’ and together they independently released an album of the same name.
In 2008 Wes won series 6 of Network Tens Australian Idol. Wes’ single ‘You’ became a Platinum selling Aria number 1 single. His album “The Way the World Looks” stormed the Aria charts opening at number 2, with the song “Feels Like Woah” then becoming the most played song on Australian radio.
In 2013 Wes achieved international recognition in winning Best Male Artist at the International Acoustic Music Awards.
In 2015 Wes toured his sell out one-man show “Here Comes the Sun” – a show he created celebrating the late and great George Harrison.
This year Wes received his first Golden Guitar for best collaboration with Catherine Britt. In between laps of the country, Wes is a Dad to Willow (+1) and husband to Charlotte. Wes has just released his latest album, “Hummingbird” featuring Wes’ best work yet. A selection of tracks ranging from joy to existential fear and every emotional point in between.
